A 12th century missal is being returned by the British Library to the Cathedral City of Benevento, Naples. The manuscript had previously been thought by the city to have been destroyed during the second World War.

A rare 13th century English Bible has been bought by the University of South Carolina and the Hollings Library. The book, a missal , is dominated almost exclusively by liturgical text rather than images, and was used by the clergy during the celebration of the Mass.

Gilding the Lilly:A Hundred Medieval and Illuminated Manuscripts in the Lilly Library

A special exhibition of Medieval and Renaissance illuminated manuscripts will begin October 1st at Indiana University's Lilly Library. This exhibition has been guest curated by Christopher De Hamel.

Research at Oxford shows that the Garima Gospels may date from between 330 and 650 AD, making it among the world's oldest illuminated manuscripts, and the oldest Ethiopian manuscript yet found.

Faddan More Psalter reveals an ancient Coptic source

Manuscript dug from from an Irish bog in 2006 reveals a surprising Egyptian link. Papyrus bits found in the lining of the leather binding of an eight century Irish Psalter recovered from a Tipperary bog four years ago provides tantalizing physical evidence of a link connecting early Irish Christianity to the ancient Middle Eastern Coptic Church.
